PSHE & Relationships
At Orchard Primary School, Personal, Social, Health & Relationships Education is at the core of our religious ethos and values and it radiates throughout our curriculum from PSHE+Relationships lessons and assembly themes.
The national body for Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (The PSHE Association), identified three core themes to promote pupils to be healthy, safe and prepared for modern life.
These three themes are:
-
Health and wellbeing
-
Relationships
-
Living in the wider world (British values & Economic wellbeing)
At Orchard Primary School, we have adopted these themes as an integral part of our PSHE+Relationships curriculum and designed a bespoke curriculum that meets the needs of our learners, equips them with key knowledge and skills and provides them with the tools that they require for life long success.
Through our school provision, we provide meaningful opportunities for pupils to implement their PSHE skills in their everyday lives e.g. making healthy choices, community cohesion, diversity and sustainability.
The three themes are visited each academic year and are of a progressive nature where pupils learn important concepts within the appropriate year groups.
